A weekly presentation was given to the English Department faculty members by (Dr. Bandar A. Muhammed) on Monday, April 26, 2025 at English Department.
Dr Bandar A. Muhammed presented a seminar on (Learning and Teaching English through Literature). The presentation shed light on how teachers can analyze a poem systematically and get feedback on each component from the students.
(Still I Rise) is a poem written by African American poet Maya Angelou was taken as a sample to be analyzed.
Dr Bandar divided the poem into two parts first: form and meaning. Then each part is subdivided to (simile, metaphor, allusion… etc and rhyme, rhythm, alliteration … etc.).
The poem (Still I Rise) is well known in English literature that can be used as a source of motivation in the face of tyranny, disappointment, and inequality.
